J. Pierpont Morgan, one of the wealthiest, most powerful people in history, was a man of insatiable economic ambition who turned his vast fortune into a global empire at the dawn of the twentieth century.

After establishing himself as one of the top banking houses in the world, J. P. Morgan expanded his empire to include steel, industry, electricity - including the works of Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla - telegraph lines, railroads, shipping, and mining throughout North America, including Alaska. in the process, Morgan founded the world's first billion-dollar company in 1901. He also just as quickly found himself under SCRUTINY by the US government for violating antitrust laws.

Undeterred, Morgan pressed his advantage by forcing then-President Theodore Roosevelt to sign a deal that expanded Morgan's holdings even further in an effort to stave off the panic of 1907. It was a corrupt BARGAIN, but with Roosevelt out of power and a new person elected into the White House, Morgan has since been quite friendly to President Taft. it remains to be seen, however, how well this friendship will last when the US Justice Department decides the fate of J. P. Morgan's vast empire.

Despite being one of the most well-known people of his era, J. P. Morgan avoided the public and despised being photographed due to his nose being HIDEOUSLY disfigured with rhinophyma. As a result, J. P. Morgan's grand library in midtown Manhattan served as a frequent retreat.
